Flu, Flu...Go Away!

Kelsey has had the flu since Sunday and has given us quite the scare. Early Tuesday morning, around 2:45 am, Kelsey woke up screaming at the top of her lungs. I ran into her bedroom, picked her up, only to feel her extremely hot body. I yelled for Jon, who immidiately ran to get medicine and water. I quickly took her temperature and she had 105.2 degree temperature. She was also shaking...so we ran back upstairs, put her in a cool bath, threw on some clothes, put her in a diaper and drove to the Wake Med emergency room.
It took about 20 minutes before they would even see us...are you kidding me?!?! By then her temperature had gone down to the high 103's. She was so miserable, you could just look at her flushed, poofy face to see it. Hours later...yes I said it... "hours" later the doctor finally made it in to do a check up. Her temperature was down in the 101's by this time. I definitely had no patience and was so disappointed in the time management at Wake Med.
Anyways, all they gave her was Tylenol and sent us on our way. Kelsey is recupperating slowly. She is still very sleepy all the time and has started hitting her head...as if she might have some sort of headache. Poor baby! We will not be sending her to daycare this week. We just want her to get better so we can see her sweet little smile again, get back to work and our daily routines. Hang in there sweetie-pie!
