3rd Grade Lock-In

What a day!  We (meaning the 3rd grade teachers) decided to have our annual "Lock-in"  last night.  The kids were extremely over excited.  I have never in my life said, "Quiet down!!!" as many times as I had to last night.  They played games outside...ate pizza, chips, PF Chang's desert, and had soda...they changed into pj's and finally got to relax and watch a movie (Tangled of course).  Kelsey got to participate in half the activities before Daddy picked her up.  I was super exhausted and didn't make it home until almost 10 pm.  What a day!...did I say that already??!?

Easter at Great-Grandma's

We hopped in the car, bright and early, and headed to Grandma Barbara's house.  We arrived just in time to play games and go egg hunting.  Kelsey was very entertaining to watch....Duck-Duck-Goose= she ran around even if it wasn't her turn...Pop the Balloon= since it wasn't blown up enough, she couldn't figure out how to pop it...Egg-and-Spoon Race= She held the egg and spoon in both her hands... Ring Around the Rosies= she didn't want it to stop.  Lot's of reasons to make us all smile ;)
Kelsey, Jon and I searched everywhere for eggs to fill her basket.  I was not much help...its getting hard to bend these days.  But Kelsey and Jon sure filled up her basket with tons of candy and eggs.  We have enough to at least last a month!   Here she is enjoying time with her Great-Grandma, her Aunts and her new little friends she made.
 One Cute Bunny!

Egg-static!!!

Kelsey and I made Easter eggs today.  She was much more involved than last year.  She even grabbed her paintbrush because she thought we were going to "hand" paint them.  We colored them first with crayons...dyed them...and then she adorned each one with random stickers.  We were so excited about our project we ate two of them once we finished.  Yummy!

New Craft Projects

I made these plaques that are above Kelsey and Ashlyn's doors (I wanted to put them ON the door, but Jon informed me that that was a not so great idea since they will hit the door every time we open and close it).  I had started it totally differently, but came up with this idea and painted over the old one.  I think they turned out pretty cute.

Also, in the works, is a diaper cake (my first).  The first one looked like a disaster since I had covered it with tons and tons of baby knick-knacks...but it just looked like a hot mess.  So I took it all apart, started over, and have ended up with this.  It looks much cleaner and classier than the previous.  Now just looking for something to put on top and I'm done ;)
Notice the trend...the first idea NEVER turns out?!?!  Hmmmmmm....What can I make now?!?!

Ashlyn's 2nd Baby Shower

Spas & Spice and Everything Nice...that's what girls are made of!!!
My girlfriends really outdid themselves this time!!!  I was so excited to see everyone and hang out with a few of my closest friends.  They took me out to eat at Cantina 18 (which was my first time and I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it!).  The food was delish and the salsa was...um...to die for ;)  Then we went straight on to the nail salon where I was pampered with a mani-pedi.  We were stuffed and relaxed and all we wanted to do was take a nap afterwards.
I am so thankful and blessed to have people who make me feel as special as my girlfriends do!  Thank you girls for spoiling me rotten ;)  Love you all!

Face Painting

As we were walking through the mall today...Dillard's was having an Easter party, so we decided that we NEEDED to check it out.  Kelsey got her face painted for the first time.  She wanted the princess crown (how fitting) and she held still the entire time.  I was quite impressed with her patience.  Here are some pics for proof!

What a Beautiful Day!

Kelsey and I spent some Mommy/Daughter time today.  We went out for a super long walk...to the park, on the nature trail, and around the block, back home, gotta popsicle, went back out and blew bubbles !  I hope this weather stays this way for awhile...gotta love some fresh air and spending time with my little snuggle bug!

Ashlyn's 1st Baby Shower

What a special treat!  My friends at school hosted a baby shower for me and I was extremely "sprinkled" with gifts!  Come to find out, I'm the only person at my school to have had two babies during the time I've worked there....so this in turn, made me the first to have two baby showers :)  Glad I could break the Guinness Book of Smith Records!!!
I'm so grateful for all the car seat, the onesies, the pacies, the diapers, and most of all...the gift cards!  I love my Smith Family!
The delicious cake for little Ashlyn!
The Food Spread...love Mrs. Himes chicken salad, but she won't share the recipe :.(
 The diaper cake!
 My friends!
My sweet little helper and future Big Sister!
 And the finale...me opening presents!
