Visit to Great-Grandma's

Kelsey and I went to visit my Grandma for the day! She is such an amazing person and never ceases to amaze me. Her love is endless and she is the most giving and selfless person I know. She has been working extremely hard this year on her GIGANTIC garden with her friend Dawn. They are out there everyday weeding, harvesting, watering, transplanting, etc. I know they both are extremely proud of their hardwork...I had to take pictures so one day (in the far future) I can somehow manage to pull off something this big.

I was able to get some pictures of Kelsey and my Grandma together...as well as Grandma and Dawn.

Kelsey's First Haircut

It was finally time to tame the little mullet!!! Jon, Kelsey and I went to Famous Hair (where I get my hair done) to get Kelsey's first haircut. She must have thought she was at the doctors office because once Tabitha (hair stylist) started touching her hair...she went into panic mode. Through all the crying, pouting and pure uneasiness, she remained still enough to get a pretty cute haircut!!! Now she has layers and even bangs (which we want to grow out)!!! She's our pretty little princess!

And a little video so you can witness how the haircut "really" went:

The Pool's are OPEN!!!

We are so happy!!! All the pools are open again!!!  We weren't sure how Kelsey would take to the big bathtub, but she actually warmed up to it immidiately.  I'm really going to have to watch her because she'll just jump right in.  Swimming lessons are going to have to start pronto!

Vafier Baby Shower

Ken and Brittany had a baby shower for their daughter due in July!  The underwater/beach theme was everywhere...the food...the baby's room...the decorations...the gifts!!!  It was beautiful, fun and it was nice to see everyone again!  Praying for a healthy pregnancy and delivery!

Flash Cards

Kelsey points to her flash cards every night so Jon will quiz her on them. She almost knows half of them...of course in her own little cute way!!! Yay!

The Active Listener

So...Kelsey has a new super-special quality...she can hear EVERYTHING!!! How do I know this?!??!
Setting the Scene:
Kelsey and I are running after each other around the house...meanwhile Dora the Explorer is on TV.

Me: I'm going to get you!!!
Kelsey: (laughing)
Dora: There's the apple!  Is the apple orange?
Me: The mommy monster is going to tickle you!!!
Kelsey: Noooo
Dora: No it's not!  Is the apple green?
Kelsey: (laughing still...) Nooooo
Me: (realizing she's not even listening to me anymore)
Dora: No it's not!  Is the apple red?
Kelsey: (shaking her head up and down)
Dora: That's right.  The apple is red!!!

This has happened on numerous occassions...apparently Kelsey knows that the answer to the first two questions are "no" and the third one is "yes!"  Love it!!! She makes us laugh all the time!

Strawberry Pickin'

Kelsey and I set out yesterday to Pope's Farm to pick some scrumptious strawberries.  She was such a huge little helper.  She picked most of the strawberries...but of course I had to hide the unripe ones before we checked out ;)  The entire time she kept saying, "Yummy..yummy!"  So we immediately had to go home, wash them and have a few.  We'll have to do it again before the seasons over ;)  I love my cutie "berry" much!!!
I didn't get to see this picture until I got home...but thought it was too funny!

Romeo Take Me...

I went to the Taylor Swift Concert on Saturday with my girlfriend Kim and her two daughters!  We had lots of fun singing...taking pictures...swinging our glow sticks...and listening to the 13,000 girls scream at the end of each and every one of Taylor's sentences.
What I learned about Taylor:
a. She likes to whip her head up, down, side-to-side, this way and that way...like head banging in the early 90's.
b. She loves making kids scream.  She refused to sing until the screaming was loud enough.
c. Her stage set-up was awesome...loved all the different scenes.
d. She changed her outfit and guitar after each song.
e. She really writes her songs about her ex's...and even uses their names in her lyrics.  Watch out boys!!!
f. Her voice sounds exactly as it does on the radio...love that!

Here are some pics before and during the concert.  We were in the back on the top shelf...so my pics may seem fuzzy, but that's just how far away we really were ;)
