This weekend was my 10 year reunion in Southern Pines, NC. I was so fortunate that my in-laws were able to take care of Kelsey for the weekend because this was no weekend for a 1 year old ;) It all began on Friday evening...I rode with Sarah and Chris (Jon had to work the next day) to Sarah's parents house in SP. We were running a little late, so Sarah was able to make up some time with her wild driving, pedal-to-the-medal skills! Sarah's parents took us all out to dinner. It was nice getting to know the Upchurch's! What an outgoing bunch! The next morning, we (Sarah, Chris and I) went to The O'Neal School Brunch/Tour. We ended up getting there 15 minutes late and everyone was already mingling. Lots of parents were there, babies, spouses...and of course alumni. I thought I was going to be out of control nervous, but once I saw everyone, it was as if we never separated. We all fell right back into our roles. While we were eating breakfast, we got to catch up on the "Where do you live? and What are you doing now?" discussions.
The tour was awesome! Our school has completely torn down and upgraded. There is only one building (the middle school) that still remains. Back in 1999, we went to classes in trailers. Now, the school has a theater, 2 side by side basketball courts, larger and advanced classrooms....the list just goes on and on. I think we all left thinking, "I wish ours kids could go here one day!"
Afterwards, we all headed to lunch and then to the farm. The boys watched football (of course) and Sarah and I rode on the Gator...I told ya'll about her driving earlier ;) Needless to say, we had a really good laugh on that thing!
Once Jon arrived, it was time to get ready for the nights festivities!!! I had a code red shirt emergency, but Laurel was able to save the day for me! We ended up at Ironwood and ate dinner under the canopy area. It took forever for the food to get out, so we were able to hang out more with alumni who hadn't made it to brunch that morning. Here are some pictures from throughout the night: And here's the Class of 1999!!!
