My Little Sickling

I hate to say it, but my little rockstar is down with the HFM Virus.  The PA said there has been a large outbreak the past few weeks, so if anyone were to catch it, it had to be our Kelsey.

She woke up Sunday morning and ran up to me with her hands out saying, "Mom look!!" At first I thought Great...Chicken Pox! But once Jon saw it, he quickly (with some Internet help) found out that she had HFM.  The doc said its pretty easy to catch and definitely easy to spread.  We've been trying our very best to keep Kelsey away from Ashlyn, but that's actually much harder to do than I thought it would be.
I had to take Kelsey to work with me today (its a teacher workday), since K definitely can't go to daycare.  She seemed fine...just the blisters in her mouth and on her hand that make her cringe.  She was my BIG helper in the classroom...helping me clean off desks, organize shelves, and throw out trash.  I'm kind of excited to bring her back tomorrow, which happens to be the last day of school...AWESOME!  Time to get this sickling better so we can do some FUN stuff while I'm off.

Dear Lysol,
I spray you after every touch...elevator buttons, hand rails, door knobs, toys, tables, chairs, sinks.  Sometimes I just spray you to make sure you still work.  Please KILL those germies so K will get better and no one else will catch the wild fire HFM.

Sincerely,
Mother of one sick kid (knock on wood)
